Public comment will be accepted on items before the Council for approval for formal review, public hearings, or scoping:

Approval for Scoping:

  • CMP Framework 6 (Atlantic King Mackerel Trip Limits)

Approval for Public Hearings:

  • CMP Amendment 31 (Cobia)

Public comment will also be accepted regarding any of the other items on the Council agenda and on Executive Order 13771 (2 for 1 Regulations) to identify regulations that are (1) outdated, (2) unnecessary, or (3) ineffective.

The Council Chair, based on the number of individuals wishing to comment, will determine the amount of time provided to each commenter.

DEADLINES: 

November 27, 2017: 
Written comments (online and those submitted by mail/fax) received by close of business the Monday before the meeting (November 27, 2017) will be compiled, posted to the website as part of the meeting materials, and included in the administrative record.  Please use the online comment form to ensure your comments get distributed immediately to Council.
Individuals that wish to submit comments after November 27, 2017 must use the Council's online comment form. Comments will automatically be posted to the website and available for Council consideration. Comments received prior to noon on Thursday of the Council meeting (12/07/17) will be a part of the meeting administrative record.

  • The Council will discuss Coastal Migratory Pelagics Amendment 31, which addresses possibilities for changes to management jurisdiction of Atlantic Migratory Group Cobia.
  • Recreational Reporting Workshop: The Council will host a workshop on Tuesday (12/5) from 8:30 AM - Noon to discuss current recreational reporting opportunities available to the public. Folks from iSnapper, Tails 'n' Scales, FWC, and others will be present to address these exciting developments and their future.
  • Visioning Amendments: The Council will continue to hone the recreational and commercial visioning amendments (Snapper Grouper Regulatory Amendment 26 and Snapper Grouper Regulatory Amendment 27) which propose changes to management of the snapper grouper complex, simplifying regulations and solidifying the possibility of access to a year round fishery.
