Harvest of Shallow Water Grouper Species Reopens on May 1, 2015 in South Atlantic Federal Waters

The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council reminds recreational and commercial fishermen that harvest of all shallow water grouper species reopens to harvest in the South Atlantic effective May 1, 2015.

Shallow Water Grouper Species Include: 

  • Coney
  • Graysby
  • Black Grouper
  • Gag Grouper
  • Red Grouper
  • Scamp Grouper
  • Yellowfin Grouper
  • Yellowmouth Grouper
  • Red Hind
  • Rock Hind

Note: These species are closed January 1 through April 30 annually as part of a spawning season closure.
