2007 Fishing Regulations for U.S. South Atlantic Federal Waters

Click on image to download a copy or order hard copies by contacting the Council office.

Updated as of June 2007, this regulations brochure contains both recreational and commercial regulations for species managed by the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council.  The brochure includes information on managed areas, including Oculina Bank restrictions, as well as full color illustrations of the more commonly caught species in the snapper grouper management complex.

Updates include regulation changes for snowy grouper, golden tilefish, vermilion snapper, black sea bass, and red porgy that went into effect October 23, 2006.  These regulatory actions are the result of Amendment 13C to the Snapper Grouper Management Plan for the South Atlantic.  The amendment was developed by the South Atlantic Council to end or phase out overfishing for snowy grouper, vermilion snapper, black sea bass, and red porgy, while allowing a moderate increase in red porgy as stocks continue to rebuild.   The Final Rule for Snapper Grouper Amendment 13C contains additional details regarding the amendment and regulatory changes.
