Once comments are submitted using the online comment form, they are posted to the Council's website for the public to view.

DEADLINES: 

June 4, 2018: 
Written comments (online and those submitted by mail/fax) received by close of business the Monday before the meeting (June 4) will be compiled, posted to the website as part of the meeting materials, and included in the administrative record.  Please use the online comment form to ensure your comments get distributed immediately to Council.

June 5 - June 14, 2018: 
Individuals that wish to submit comments after June 4 must use the Council's online comment form. Comments will automatically be posted to the website and available for Council consideration. Comments received prior to noon on Thursday of the Council meeting (6/14/18) will be a part of the meeting administrative record.

Spiny Lobster Committee

  • The Council will review  Spiny Lobster Amendment 13 (Bully Netting) and provide guidance to staff on how to move forward with the amendment, possibly approving it for public hearings.

Mackerel Cobia Committee:

  • The Council will discuss whether or not to approve CMP Amendment 31, which proposes possible management jurisdiction changes for Atlantic cobia (GA-NY).
  • The Council will also discuss CMP Framework Amendment 6, which could reevaluate commercial trip limits of king mackerel in the EEZ. Public hearings for this issue will take place at the meeting.

Snapper Grouper Committee:

  • The Council will continue to discuss the Visioning Amendments (both recreational and commercial) after the recent public hearings (held in early May).
  • The Council will revisit Snapper Grouper Amendment 46, which outlines possible actions for private recreational reporting and permitting.
  • SG Regulatory Amendment 28, which proposes management changes for Golden Tilefish in the South Atlantic, will go before the Council and could be approved for formal review.
  • The Council will take a look at a scoping document for Snapper Grouper Amendment 47 (For-Hire Moratorium of federal SG permits) and possibly approve it for scoping meetings.

For-Hire Electronic Reporting Outreach Training

  • The Council will host a training for charter/headboat permit holders at 6PM on June 14, 2018. Attendees will be updated on the status of the amendment, learn about some of the possible tools available to them, and get hands on in-person training with app developers and Council staff.
