Are you interested in knowing how fishery science works and how data collected is used to make management decisions? Look no further - the Marine Resources Education Program has come to the Southeastern region of the U.S. to help fishermen learn skills to become involved in the fishery management process.
Fishermen and others who want to learn more about the fishery science and management processes used in the South Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean are encouraged to apply to participate in the Marine Resources Education Program, now being offered specifically for the Southeast fisheries region.
A program designed for fishermen by fishermen, the workshop-based program offers the opportunity for participants to learn about these complex processes outside of the formal council meetings, ask questions of senior scientists and managers, and build on their own understanding through a tailored educational experience.
