The Council is scheduled to approve the amendments for submission to the Secretary of Commerce.

Snapper Grouper Committee Meeting

  • Amendment 29 - (ORCS and gray triggerfish) - outlines procedures for management of stocks with limited data (only reliable catch stocks) and also includes alternatives for gray triggerfish management including commercial trip limits, split seasons, and changes to size limits. The Council is scheduled to approve the amendment for submission to the Secretary of Commerce.

  • Amendment 32 - Blueline tilefish management measures: The amendment addresses blueline tilefish and would remove blueline tilefish from the Deepwater Complex, reduce annual catch limits, specify Accountability Measures, implement commercial trip limits, and modify recreational bag limits.  The Council is scheduled to approve  the amendment for submission to the Secretary of Commerce.

  • Regulatory Amendment 20 - Snowy grouper management measures: The amendment proposes measures for snowy grouper based on the recent stock assessment. Measures include changing the rebuilding strategy, Acceptable Biological Catch, Annual Catch Limits, modify commercial trip limits and recreational bag limits, consider a commercial split season, and changes to sector allocation. The Council is scheduled to approve the amendment for submission to the Secretary of Commerce.

Mackerel Committee Meeting

  • Coastal Migratory Pelagics Framework Amendment 2 - Spanish mackerel: The amendment will revise the quota and trip limit system for commercial harvest of Atlantic Spanish mackerel in the Southern Zone (which is proposed in Amendment 20B, and includes SC, GA and Florida East Coast.) The Council is scheduled to approve the amendment for submission to the Secretary of Commerce.
