Public comment will be accepted regarding any of the items on the Council agenda. The Council Chair, based on the number of individuals wishing to comment, will determine the amount of time provided to each commenter. 

Public comment will be accepted regarding the following agenda items in addition to other topics. 

Approval for Scoping: 

  • Snapper Grouper Amendment 48 (Wreckfish ITQ Modernization)
  • Snapper Grouper Amendment 50 (Red Porgy)
  • Coastal Migratory Pelagics Framework Amendment 10 (King Mackerel) 
  • Coral Amendment 10 (Deep Water Shrimp Fishery Access Areas)

Approval for Public Hearings: 

  • Dolphin Wahoo Amendment 10 (Dolphin Wahoo Management Measures)

November 30, 2020: 
Written comments (online and those submitted by mail/fax) received by close of business the Monday before the meeting (11/30/20) will be compiled, posted to the website as part of the meeting materials, and included in the administrative record.  Please use the online comment form to ensure your comments get distributed immediately to the Council.

December 1 - December 10, 2020: 
Individuals that wish to submit comments after November 30 must use the Council's online comment form. Comments will automatically be posted to the website and available for Council consideration. Comments received prior to noon on Thursday of the Council meeting (12/10/20) will be a part of the meeting administrative record.


The following agenda highlights will be up for discussion during the meeting:

Snapper Grouper

  • The Council will consider options for modernizing the Wreckfish Individual Transferable Quota (ITQ) Program  under Snapper Grouper Amendment 48. During the meeting, the Council will consider approving the amendment for public scoping.
  • The Council will discuss Snapper Grouper Amendment 50, which considers modifications to red porgy management, including catch levels and allocations. During the meeting, the Council will consider approving the amendment for public scoping.
  • Under Snapper Grouper Amendment 49, the Council will discuss catch levels and allocations for Greater Amerbjack.

Dolphin Wahoo

  • The Council will continue to discuss Dolphin Wahoo Amendment 10, which considers multiple management measures for Dolphin and Wahoo, including but not limited to catch levels, allocations, and accountability measures. During the meeting, the Council will consider approving the amendment for public hearings.

Coastal Migratory Pelagics

  • The Council will discuss Coastal Migratory Pelagics Framework Amendment 10, which considers options for Atlantic King Mackerel catch levels and allocations. 
  • The Council will also receive a presentation on the recent stock assessment for Florida East Coast/Gulf cobia.
