Joint Coastal Migratory Pelagics Amendment 20B

Joint Coastal Migratory Pelagic Amendment 20B

Proposed actions: modifications to Gulf king mackerel trip limits, fishing seasons, and transit provisions; regional annual catch limits for Atlantic king mackerel and Spanish mackerel, modifications to framework procedures; and annual catch limits and targets for Gulf and Atlantic cobia.

At the March 2014 meeting, the South Atlantic Council removed the option to change the fishing year for Gulf king mackerel in the Western Zone for consideration in a future amendment, so Amendment 20B can move forward. The Gulf Council reviewed the South Atlantic decision in April 2014 and tracked the South Atlantic actions, and took final action. The amendment was submitted to NMFS for approval on May 15, 2014
