Snapper Grouper Recreational Permitting and Reporting Technical Advisory Panel

The Snapper Grouper Recreational Permitting and Reporting Technical Advisory Panel’s (AP) role is to advise the Council on matters relating to recreational permitting or reporting. The AP was established in 2022 to assist in developing Snapper Grouper Amendment 46 which considers establishing a permit and an education requirement for the private component of the recreational sector in the Snapper Grouper fishery.

This AP is comprised of representatives from state and federal management agencies, cooperative statistics programs, and academia that provide technical and practical insight to the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (Council) as Amendment 46 is developed.  Members of the AP are appointed by the Council and may serve up to three consecutive three-year terms as specified in the AP Policy.

The AP typically meets two to three times per year as needed via webinar.
