South Atlantic Fishery Management Council

Scientific and Statistical Committee

The Scientific and Statistical Committee assists the Council in the development, collection, evaluation, and peer review of information relevant to fishery management plans and amendments. The SSC generally meets two times each year. The meetings are open to the public and may be accessed remotely via webinar. Public comments related to SSC agenda items should be provided through an online form located on the meeting’s webpage or can be made verbally during the meeting at the start and end of each meeting as well as after presentations for an agenda topic. Learn more about the science and data used to develop fishery management plans and amendments, as well as the stock assessment process (SEDAR).
