Feb. 2022 Public Scoping: Snowy, Golden Tilefish, Blueline Tilefish, and Gag Grouper
The Council will hold a series of scoping meetings via webinar pertaining to Amendments 51, 52, and 53 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Snapper Grouper Fishery of the South Atlantic Region. The amendments adjust catch levels for snowy grouper, golden tilefish, and gag based on results of the latest stock assessments for those species, respectively, and consider adjusting management measures where needed. In addition, Amendment 52 considers changes to recreational accountability and management measures for blueline tilefish.
Public Scoping Webinars February 1, 2, & 3, 2022 to cover:
- Snowy Grouper (Snapper Grouper Amendment 51)
- Golden Tilefish & Blueline Tilefish (Snapper Grouper Amendment 52)
- Gag Grouper (Snapper Grouper Amendment 53)
Public Comment:
Verbal public comment will be accepted during the public scoping webinars following the presentation and questions.
Other comments must be received by February 4, 2022 at 5 PM to be considered by the Council during its March 7-11, 2022 meeting.
