Next week’s meeting of the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council will be a busy one, as Council members address federal fishery issues ranging from ways to reduce release mortality in the Snapper Grouper fishery to evaluating the Council’s Citizen Science Program.

Members of the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council will meet June 13-17 to discuss federal fisheries management issues. The meeting will take place at the Marriott Beachside Hotel in Key West, Florida.
NOAA Fisheries Announces Limited Openings of Recreational and Commercial Red Snapper Seasons in South Atlantic Federal Waters
Each year, NOAA Fisheries announces the season opening dates for red snapper in federal waters of the South Atlantic, in addition to the recreational season length.

We’re excited to announce that the Council is transitioning to a new website, with launch day scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19th.
